Sims3Cheat Codes and How to Use Them

This is a list of some Sims3 cheats that I have tested. To enable these cheats in your game, open the Cheat Menu in your game by simultaneously pressing the CTRL+SHIFT+C keys. Type any of the following cheats into the text box that opens and then press enter to activate that Cheat in your game and achieve the described results.

Vista Users
If you are having trouble opening the CheatBar on your Vista Computer you might want to try this trick. I play my Sims3 on a Vista computer myself and although this has not been true for me, it has been reported by many Simm3rs who are playing on a Vista computer that you must also press the Windows key in addition to the SHIFT+CTRL+C keys to open the CheatBar.

To Achieve this result:
This cheat displays most cheats available in the game with a brief explanation of each cheat.

Enter Cheat Code:

• Kaching

To Achieve this result:
Adds 1,000 Simoleons to your active Simmi3’s bank account.

Enter Cheat Code:

• Motherlode

To Achieve this result:
Adds 50,000 Simoleons to your active Simmi3’s bank account.

Enter Cheat Code:

• moveObjects on/off

To Achieve this result:
This cheat enables you to move and/or place otherwise unmovable objects without limits.

Note: this cheat is not necessary in the Sims3 to move the trashcan and the mailbox.

Enter Cheat Code:

• constrainFloorElevation true/false

To Achieve this result:
This cheat enables player made Terrain Adjustments regardless of objects/sims on them.

Enter Cheat Code:

• EnableLlamas on/off

To Achieve this result:
I have no clue as to what this cheat does. I turned it on and got this little uneventful message that Llamas were enabled…but nothing seemed to change. After looking through a couple of menus and messing around a little I turned the cheat off and was notified unceremoniously that the cheat had been disabled as though I didn’t know it. *giggle* I’m sure one day this cheat may make its purpose known…but as for now…it’s a mystery to me.

Enter Cheat Code:

• disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt on/off

To Achieve this result:
This will stop objects from snapping to grid if you press ALT while placing an object. This is a useful cheat when placing things for décor. I use it quite often to get that perfect placement of vases and statues. *smile*

Enter Cheat Code:

• resetSim [first name] [last name]

To Achieve this result:
This cheat does as it says. It returns your named simmi3 to a safe and neutral state back at home lot.

Enter Cheat Code:

• hideHeadlineEffects on/off

To Achieve this result:
This will turn on and off the thought balloons that appear over your Simmi3s heads when thinking and talking.

Enter Cheat Code:

• unlockOutfits on/off

To Achieve this result:
Use this cheat before entering CAS to enable career and service skins.

Enter Cheat Code:

• testingCheatsenabled true/false

(Use this cheat with caution and remember to set to false when you are done with it.)

To Achieve this result:
With this cheat set to true, you can enable a number of cheats by holding down shift and either clicking on a Sim or on the mailbox. Below, I have provided an explanation of some of the things you can do with this cheat enabled.

Shift+leftClick the Mailbox

1. Make All Happy – Does as it says and maxes all motives.
2. Force Visitor – Deos as it says and forces a visitor to your active families home.
3. Make Friends For Me – did nothing for my simmi3.
4. Make Needs Static – turns off motive decay.
5. Make Needs Dynamic – turns on motive decay.
6. Make Me Know Everyone – adds all town sims to your acquaintances.
7. Set Career – Allows you to choose your Simmi3s career and level in that career.
8. Force NPC – does as it says. Be careful using this cheat as some NPCs bring bad consequences with their arrival.

Shift+LeftClick the Simmi3

1. Modify Traits for Active Sim – Allows you to change personality traits of your active Simmi3.
2. Trigger Age Transition – Forces your Simmi3s next birthday.
3. Add To Active Family – Does as it says and adds the selected sim to your Active Family household.
