Method 2
Sharing on Personal FanPages
METHOD 2 Part 1 |
.

|||
|
.
Taking Pictures – Making PreViews This
method is a little bit more complicated but well worth the effort if you have
a FanPage that you want to populate with all of your hard work. This
is an illustrated guide to creating your own PreView images and archiving
your projects for uploading to share. This
tutorial assumes you have already completed a successful export of your
project in the earlier steps of this tutorial. If you have not, you should
return to ‘Saving your Project’. (Step number 3) and attempt to make a successful Export.
|
. |
|||
|
Now that you have successfully prepared your file for
export, we need to get a picture of your finished product so that Sims3 fans can
preview it and decide if they want it or not. 1.
If you have not done so already, launch your
game now. 2.
Enter any lot or do like I do, and create a test
town where you can build a house for testing and creating. Click on
this Image to Enlarge it. Click on
this Image to Enlarge it. 3.
Build a suitable room to fit your project. Save the
lot and name it TEST. |
|
|||
|
4.
Furnish and decorate the room with all your new
stuffs. Use your own colors, wallpapers, floors, paintings, objects…whatever
you have made. Be creative. You can put a whole set of your creations in the
room or just one or two things. In my example I have put a whole room of items
together to share. Click on

5.
When the room is to your liking, take a screenshot
using the in game camera. Click on
this Image to Enlarge it. Click on
this Image to Enlarge it. 6.
You will see a light flash briefly and a little note
will appear in the upper right corner telling you that the ‘Screenshot has
been saved to the Sims3 Game Launcher’. Click on
this Image to Enlarge it. Click on

NOTE: An alternative to using
the in-game camera is using your computer’s ‘Print Screen’ function.
To do this, locate your ‘Print Screen’ button on your keyboard. It may
be labled ‘Print Screen’, ‘PrtScn’, or ‘PrintScrn’. Click on
this Image to Enlarge it. Make sure the window with
your game is open, and you have the view on your screen that you want, then
push the ‘Print Screen’ button on your keyboard. Now open your favorite
image editor, such as PhotoShop, PhotoImpact, or PhotoFitre. Open a blank page and paste your screen print into the blank palette. Edit the photo to your taste, size about 600 X 400. Add a title to your Set and sign it with your Internet ID, then save the image as a .JPG or .PNG to an easy to locate folder. Taking Pictures – Making PreViews -Done- using

7.
You can close your game when you are done taking
the screenshots that you want/need. I recommend taking a couple of different
shots of your room at different angles until you get practiced at making
previews, just in case you don’t like the first shot taken. If you want to check your screenshots before closing your game, ALT+TAB out of your game temporarily and open your screenshots folder located here: VISTA - C:\Users\*yourdesktophere
\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Screenshots
XP - C:\…\*yourdesktophere*\My

Click on

|
8.
Open your favorite image editor, such as PhotoShop,
PaintShop, PhotImpact, or PhotoFiltre. (I use PhotoImpact.) 9.
Drag and drop your screen shot into the image
editor or use the open feature on your image editor to browse to your
screenshot folder. Click on
this Image to Enlarge it. Click on

10.
Edit your screenshot to your liking. a.
Add a Title. b.
Sign it with your Sims3 identity. c.
Add any important notes or credits. d.
Give the image a boarder for a finished look. e.
Resize the image to a suitable size. (Something
like 600x400) Click on
this Image to Enlarge it. Click on
